"Everyone loved the Donation Dog saddle so much that 2 fosters wanted bandanas! Thanks so much for getting the saddle to us in time for the Open House." -Lee

"The Donation SummerTime saddle I ordered arrived today and it's beautiful! It fits Nikki just fine. She's used to wearing a therapy dog vest, so this is just another "saddle" in her opinion. Purr Partners has a special adoptathon next weekend. It's going to be called the "Siamese Explosion" because we have to many kittens with siamese-like markings. (We really need to find that Siamese stud who's wandering around out there!) In fact, I'm fostering a mom and her 4 kittens, and one has Siamese markings! So we will all attend the adoptathon and Nik will be working the crowd in her new donation saddle! I'll send you a picture.

Thanks again for this wonderful coat and for your gracious personal service. I'll be sure to spread the word about Thankful Paws!

-Judith

"Just wanted to let you know the saddle arrived today and it looks great. We put it on and took KC out to play in a field. Thank you for helping us with this custom job. You really do provide great service, and we would recommend your company to anyone!" -Phil M.

"I feel a lot safer with the Collar Cover. I trimmed Lilly's hair to show the collar better. With her white hair, the colors nicely show up. I received the scarf today. It is large however she will grow into it. I will use it when I go to the dog park and for walks. Thank you very much. And thank you, thank you for the work u do for the rescue groups and their animals!!!!!"
- Love, Lucy

Ranger

"I got the Senior Dogs Rock T-shirt and the Donation vest. WOW! They are so cute. That donation vest has come at the perfect time too, we have 2 Shih Tzus, seniors, that have depleted the bank account with their medical needs getting them to health after taking them from the local kill shelter. So this weekend, one of my old Chihuahua foster dogs will rock the vest at the adoption event earning money to help out Gladys and Beatrice. I will be back to get a few more. Thanks for including the brochure, there is a few other things I didn’t know you had (the collar covers, etc.) Again, thank you so much. The work is top notch and I am one happy customer!" -Tracy H.

"Jody - thank you so much for the order - we really liked both pieces - I put Shookies I'm Blind collar cover on right away. We do have a fenced in yard but even blind - she is still trying to jump up on things - and I was worried she might get out. (I usually go out with her anyway because I worry about her). Thanks again and we will remember your company for anything further we might need." -Anne S.

Adopt Me Please

"We received our Adopt Me coats and were able to put them to the test on Saturday already! We had a two hour open house at a local Vet Clinic ... we had two dogs there wearing our vests and they collected approx. $30/each – for two hours, we thought that was pretty good. Everyone LOVED the coats and thought it was such a unique idea! After all, who can say NO to slurpy kisses and happy tail wags?" -Thanks again! Sandy

"Hi Jody, gosh that was excellent, you must have a great team of workers. I really have enjoyed e-mailing you. Thanks a million for all your help. I just wish I could buy a new set of eyes for "Mitch." We have two dogs, a 13 year old Chihuahua (he'd look funny beside your Great Dane, his heart is as big), his name is "Rusty," he keeps wanting to lick Mitch's eyes, he knows something is wrong." -Marie in Australia

"Hi there. Just wanted to let you know the Please Adopt Me bandanas are great. Our little shelter had just started doing mobile adoptions at Petsmart when I placed my first order from you. I found I need a few more mediums so I just placed another order for mediums and a couple more smalls. The velcro makes it so easy to attach when the dogs are being wiggle worms!!!! Really love your product. Thanks." -Jan M.

Our Herding Fun Day is coming up and we'll be sure to get a group picture of the dogs sporting their saddles not only to send to you (and to do an article on them in our upcoming newsletter) but to thank the folks who helped us raise the money for them." -Melissa T.

"I purchased your Donation coats for my Shyla and one of the Donation Dog Banks, a cap, etc. for Florida Boxer Rescue last November. It was our annual fundraiser in a city park in Tampa. We had a huge silent auction, regular auction and some vendors. Your coats were very successful. Shyla and another Boxer earned $217 between the two of them-- and not all $1.00 bills. The donation coats were a big hit with everyone. Lots of other Boxers there were jealous. We estimated about 300 people and 70 or 75  Boxers throughout the 5 hour event. And that's without a marketing blitz-- we have no $$$ for that. Lots of volunteers with their foster boxers from all over central Florida. Vendors all asked "Who makes those for you?" I gave them your website and told people how easy it is to work with you and Thankful Paws.

We raised almost $12,000 for the day. That helps with our 2009 $62,000 vet bills here in central Florida."

Thanks again.

Cecil

"I would just like to say thank you for Cecil's I'm Deaf saddle. I have attached a picture of him looking very proud!

Cecil is a 12 year old Siberian Husky x Lurcher and has always been more than a bit of a challenge. Until recently he was  a very standoffish, independent dog with a very poor recall! In his younger days he did some agility and was such a good jumper but again his lack of recall caused some amusing problems. He would go halfway round the course then just leave the ring, go and lie down with whoever he found and would not come back! He also did some cross breed showing, he was then a splendid square dog with a superb straight action. On several occasions he took Best in Show off the pedigree contender, he has some beautiful rosettes and trophies to boast about!

Sadly age has caught up with him and he has both hearing and sight problems, quite bad arthritis and slight doggy dementia, he now is very fussy and affectionate with everyone but does prefer ladies! He was a birthday present and the best one I ever had, he is my soul dog!"

Regards,
Sandra

"You are amazing!!! Every company should have the level of customer service you deliver. I live in the world of customer service and YOU are STELLAR. Your personal note was very touching. Heidi's "I'm Blind" coat fits great and she is anxious to wear it when we visit my 91 year old mom in her senior apartment complex. I intend to refer your company to many of my friends in the rescue business. You do wonderful work and I am so glad I found you on the website.  You have heart - and I can sense that from many miles away! Thank you for helping Heidi to be recognized that she is blind. She is my sweetheart! l rescued Heidi when she was 3 1/2 from Sheltie Rescue of Southeastern Va. I have rescued all of my Shelties from them, except for the 13 year old Collie I have now. I rescued him 2 years ago from the local SPCA where I volunteer. I fell in love with him and he is the BEST pup I have ever rescued. I love them all, but he is just special." -Chris M.

I'm Blind Coat on Duncan

"Hi Jody and Terry...as you can see from the photo, Duncan received his jacket and is quite proud to show it off! Duncan is a 7year old Cocker who started loosing his sight about two years ago. Fortunately it has been slow so he (and we) have had time to adjust. He is extremely social and gets at least two walks a day. Everyone we meet wants to talk to him and play with him. This jacket will help explain why he needs to be almost on top of  them before he knows they are there. It will also keep folks from startling him by coming up on him from behind. The jacket looks so cool on him. Thank you so much for your help in getting such a great fit!"
-Sincerely, Helen and Mitch S., and of course, Duncan!

"This was a 3 day weekend event at the Baltimore Oriole's Camden Yards. The gates opened and the people came. You would have thought they were there for the Danes not the game. The pockets on the Donation saddles filled up almost as quickly as we could empty them. We had several people interested in adopting, fostering, and volunteering. Our total in donations for the weekend was $1,314.00!" -Barbara and Tom L.

"Thank you very much for getting the "I'm Blind" order to me before the party. The items were of great quality and fit very well. I will be taking your information to my vets office and I will keep a few brochures myself to give out to other Vets. I will also be going to the University of Florida in a month or so and my Vet is the head of small animal Veterinary Medicine at the Teaching University and I will give him the same information." -Rich D.

"Thanks for the excellent Donation coat! It fits beautifully and Simon struts when he wears it! Thank you for taking the extra time to adjust the size!" -Marsi C.

StevieStevie

"Just wanted to share some photos of the cape and shirt that you made for Stevie and me, they have been wonderful educational tools for our Rescue. The first picture is Stevie sharing a sundae at the Doggie Ice Cream Social that GRREAT hosted at a local ice cream shop. She met so many people there and we were able to talk about the Rescue in general, and specifically, about caring for special needs dogs. Her personality, combined with the bright colors of the cape and shirt, really brought people over. We posted her story on our Special Needs Page if you’re interested."

Thank you so very much!!

Picasso

"I just wanted to send you a picture of my personal Great Dane, Picasso, working hard to raise donations for all his foster brothers and sisters! We purchased both the donation jacket and summer saddle. They have more than paid for themselves. My dealings with you were very pleasant and enjoyable. Your service was prompt and friendly. Other groups have asked me about the jackets and I have sent them your way. Thank you again!"

"WOW - A quick note to thank you ALL for your amazing site, compelling products and top-notch customer service. You officially have a fan (a Shelter full, in fact) here in MetroWest, MA!

I am a Volunteer/Board Member of Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, a spunky + proud no-kill shelter who has been serving the region for over 30 years.  I was hoping to be able to outfit some of our currently available dogs in "Adopt Me!" bandanas for an upcoming Doggie Wash fundraiser, and was immediately drawn to your product line and mission.  Pictures and words simply cannot convey the quality of these bandanas - they are peerless. I cannot WAIT to get them on some of our wonderful dogs this Saturday - stay tuned for pictures from the event!  We'll proudly spread the word about your products to all who ask...All the best to you from your newest fans here in Hopkinton..."

Warmly,
Brenda for Baypath Humane Society

"I'm writing to tell you how terrific our special order items turned out. Harper, my reactive Dobie girl, wears her "I'm Reactive" collar cover on the top strap of her "Easy Walk" chest halter. It really catches attention, and gently educates people about reactive dogs trying to "be good" in public. The "I'm Reactive" bandanas came out wonderfully, and I am certain my classmates and trainer will like them. I particularly appreciate that they are secured by Velcro, rather than a tied knot-- much safer.

And blind Fiona the Pointer gets almost constant use of her I'm Blind collar cover and her harness cover. Again, they easily catch attention, giving folks a heads-up on Fi's disability, and they gently educate people about how happy and great dogs can be in spite of the loss of vision.

It's all good, and I thank you for your patience, enormous help, and willingness to hear me out on the special needs of reactive dogs. I suspect I'll be handing out your Thankful Paws flyers the next time my class meets, if not before."

All the best to you,
Katrina A.

Today we took her and her best bud, a rescued Doberman girl named Harper Lee, to a big rescue event, and Fiona was a hit, with that collar cover. "Thank you so much for sending the "I'm Blind" bandana for my blind rescued Airedale. It looks great on her and should warn people that she tends to be reactive for a reason -- mostly sheer terror because she was not blind from birth.

I am a member of a number of email list dog communities. Your product is beautifully made and very unique. I'll be posting out at some point, recommending folks have a look at your products."

Thanks for the customization. Both products are such high quality and will be great when Ariel is out in public."

"The Lend-A-Paw Harness has "helped" out poor Otto and my poor back. I'm fostering Otto who is believed to have Wobblers. This poor guy is so very sweet, he needs to live a normal life.

Otto - Before Using the HarnessOtto Using the Harness

The harness is easy to adjust and easy to use. He is walking better with it and not taking tumbles like he used to. Otto can pivot so much better with the help of the harness without him getting frustrated and falling. The harness guides him to pivot and slowly turn so he can take his time. The harness has helped out with him during meals, as his backend begins to fall. The harness helps him stand and he doesn't get frustrated and gives up on eating. It's worked in so many different ways. It's easier for him, and it's easier for my back. I love it. I highly recommend the Harness. Thank you so much to Thankful Paws for this wonderful device. I absolutely love it!"

"Thank you for making a coat for my Great Dane. Jazzie's coat fits great. I love the colors on her and it is keeping her very warm especially on these very cold days that we have had recently. Thanks again for doing such a great job and for quickly getting the coat to us." -Michelle F.

UPDATE: "We received bad news today, Sandy's other eye had to be removed, so she now has NO eyes. We are devastated. We took her to the vet this morning with her "I'm Blind" bandana and everyone thought it was wonderful and you could even tell the silent people thought it was neat, nobody tried to come up and pet her as they knew it would scare her. It's like the bandana says it all!!!  Again what a wonderful product you have. I mostly wanted her to wear it because she spooks easy and tries to run and if she got away from us, everyone would know it wasn't just a lost crazy dog, they would know she was blind and needed help. We get to pick her up Thursday and will handle the challenges as they come. THANK YOU so much for your wonderful product."

"I received my package today with the two I'm Blind bandana's in them, Thank You so much for your wonderful product!! I put it on her immediately. I have a newly blind 10 year old Golden Retriever. Her name is Sandy. We rescued her from a shelter when she was around 4 - 6 months old. She has been a wonderful and protective companion, and now its our turn to pay her back. She is blind due to sudden onset glaucoma and we will be her eyes for her. She also has 2 doggie friends that help her out as well (pictures enclosed). She is never alone, between her human and canine companions she never has to be alone.

Sandy

The hair loss on Sandy's legs was do to the IV's she had during her 2 day hospital stay to try to save the right eye about 6 months after the loss of the left eye, it was not successful, she is blind in her right eye and it may possibly have to be removed as well. Sandy is adapting well, she still uses the doggie door to go outside, she is eating well and basically all around doing well with the help from her human and canine family, it is a group effect but its working!!!!"

-Jackie P.

"Just wanted to update you on Sandy our blind dog. We have been moved into our new house for one month and she is doing GREAT! It didn't take her long to find the new doggy door!!! She has adapted very well, I was worried about her as she went totally blind in January and we moved in March (barely giving her time to adjust to being blind) but she has been great!!!"

Ferret"I wanted to thank you for the Donation Team vests. MetroFerret attended the Edison, NJ PetExpo this month with one of the shelters we support, Scales & Tails. I am happy to report we brought in $560 in donations which is a record for us at this type of event!

If only we could get Igsley the Iguana or Phil the Ferret to wear their own donation coats - who knows how well we would do?

Thanks so much for all your help getting the right size vests for us!"

Alvin

"Thank-you for the adopt-me dog coats. They were such a hit at the event. To be honest, I ordered the adorable adopt-me dog coats as a last ditch effort to get my foster dog Alvin adopted. He and his two brothers (Simon and Theo, of course) were found by the director of our pit bull rescue in a cardboard box at barely 5 weeks old. Now, six months later, Alvin has still not been adopted, due to no fault of his own. He is a highly social, beautifully behaved little gem. Alvin's only "problem" is that he is clearly not a pit bull. His brindle-colored brothers were adopted immediately, but poor Alvin does not resemble a pit bull in the least and has been continually over-looked by those who come to our rescue with the intention of adopting a rescued pit bull. I knew that Charleston's 'Paws In The Park' event would be Alvin's best shot at finding his forever home. This was to be a huge event for our rescue, as it happen to fall on 'National Pit Bull Awareness Day,' October 25. I knew Alvin needed a way to stand-out amongst the dozens of other rescue dogs hoping to be adopted at the event. And his adopt-me coat worked like a charm! Everyone could clearly see that yes, the little hound dog at the pit bull rescue tent needs (and deserves) a home to call his own. Alvin had all kinds of admirers that day and less than a week later, someone from the event put in an application to adopt. We are doing Alvin's home visit tomorrow and I have a great feeling that things are finally going to work out for little Alvin. In fact, out of the 19 dogs currently in our rescue, a whooping 7 have adoptions pending, which is amazing, especially for a pit bull rescue. The adorable coats drew great attention to our rescue at the event, attracting potential adopters and raising (much needed) pit bull awareness. Thank you again for the wonderful coats.

I will highly recommend the coats to anyone who asks about them (we got tons of complements at the event). We also attracted a new supporter who has donated the application money for our 501c3, so I'm sure we will be ordering donation coats before our next big event."

Thanks again,

"Bailey's "I'm Blind" jackets are holding up like iron and any time we go to an off leash area, he wears one of his jackets. (No one believes he is blind, however). I am so thankful to have them." -Karen

Buddy

"Here's a photo of Buddy (Marlboro) with his Adopt Me Please collar cover. The photo was taken by a professional photographer who took pictures of the dogs for Mostly Mutts. I've gotten lots of comments and people wanting to know where I got the collar cover! Thanks again." -Cathy W.

"Your service is excellent!! I got the "adopt me" bandanas just in time for our adoption fair. Thank you so much for your extra efforts to get them out so fast!" -Kelly L.

Brownie - Shirt Winner

"Here are photos of the presentation at the Girl Scouts Brownie Troop. The girls collected Pennies for Pugs and brought in donations (pet beds, shampoo, bowl, toys, blankets) to go to a rescue in Bowling Green that has a little one-eyed pug that was surrendered by a breeder. He had to have one damaged eye removed and they are trying to save his vision in the other eye. They wanted to do something to help him, so we're sending all of the stuff to that rescue.

The little girl who brought in the most pennies won the pink shirt, then she also had the pawprint packet that I handed out, so she won both shirts. She let the other girls draw for one of the tees...which was nice of her to do.

Just wanted to share with you and say thank you again for your t-shirt contribution!!"

Watson

"Thank you so much for the beautiful coat. My dog Watson has always liked to dress up. He likes his new coat so much he absolutely won't let me take it off. His sister Lucille keeps grabbing it by the tail and dragging him backwards all over the living room. She is very jealous. These are wonderful items you are selling. I don't know many people with blind and deaf dogs, but I will be sure to get the word out on your products. Watson is a 15 year old Jack Russell. He lost his hearing a couple years ago. He went blind after only a few months on insulin. We can learn a lot from our canine companions. Instead of moping around Watson has quickly adapted to his newest handicap. He has a great attitude and appetite. His page is:

"Sammy and Chagall’s vests were perfect. The doggy volunteers did a great job at the Macy’s fashion show and event. Sammy’s Mom said his clothes fit better than hers!   We'd like to order another vest. We are so appreciative to you and your company. So many heartbreaking requests coming in from very ill pet owners or those who are out of work….we are trying to help as many pets and their people as possible. Just last week we helped secure ophthalmology exams for 2 dogs with eye problems whose Mom is waiting for a corneal transplant (MA). We also helped Skibu who has cancer and needs radiation. Tails donated money, secured a donation from another assistive program and gave the guardian leads on additional programs that may join us in helping Skibu and we are helping a black Lab mix who needs chemo for her cancer. Your company is wonderful and is helping us raise the funds needed to fulfill these requests."

-Smiles of appreciation, Linda B.

"The Taylorsville Apple Festival was held here in our home town. Historically, it has not always been a big fundraiser for us, we barely broke even last year. So this year we decided to just put a Donation coat on a Dane and go check them out.

Diana and I took our boy Jaxx and as always he drew a crowd. He's a big goofy boy who loves everything and everybody so he had a ball getting rubs, loves and kisses from dozens and dozens of men women and especially kids. He made a pig of himself begging everybody for food, there was plenty of it.

We took in $71.00 in a couple of hours.

Jaxx took in two hot dogs, handfuls of pop corn, parts of turkey legs, barbecue, slaw and even a dill pickle. That was hilarious, he took it three times before he finally decided it was not to his liking!!!"

-John & Diana

"Thanks so much for the Adopt Me Please collar cover. I can't wait to take Buddy to adoptions on Sat. where he will be sporting his new collar cover! Thanks again!" -Mary from Mostly Mutts

"Thank you so much for sending me your sample harness. I tried it but I am finding it won’t work as I thought. The strap in front for her chest won’t support her front legs enough as I had hoped. I am sending it back in the same mint condition you were good enough to send it in. I wanted to tell you though, how beautifully worked the harness is and shows the care that was given in making it. The stitching and little pockets and embroidery was very special to see and I am sorry that my little dog won’t be able to make use of it. Thank you again for working with me and being so willing to send the sample harness. You don’t find that trust in businesses anymore and that tells me more about your organization than anything else. You showed all around the love and pet concern that your company is founded on. I will recommend your product to others if I can in the future, and will send you my business in the future also should I need it. I wish you continued and happy success with your company!"
-Thank you again so very sincerely, Mary B.

Drew

"This was our first official Meet & Greet with Cane Corso Rescue and we had a wonderful turn out. Thank you again for the Donation Coats. EVERYONE LOVES THEM!! The SummerTime Saddle is working well for Fiona..the National Director's disabled dog!

Here are some photos of Drew. He was found as a stray on Drew St. in Brooklyn, NY. He then went to a shelter and then to us. We fostered him at first thinking he was around 5 years old, but have found him to be more along the lines of 7 years old. We've since adopted him. He's a VERY good boy and I couldn't ask for a better Corso than Drew, wonderful temperament for his breed! Drew was a true ambassador for our first official Meet & Greet!!" -Lynn K.

Clint

"We recently purchased a Donation jacket for our dog to wear during our county fair this past weekend. I was shocked at the response we got because of the jacket.

We have a dog, Clint, who was born without hips. He is only 11 months old. His surgery will cost around $9,000 and we are raising money for replacement surgery on both hips. We are applying for a grant but have to raise as much on our side as possible. We have been selling an inspirational book for dog lovers, going to fairs, soliciting from prior adopters, and plan to do other fundraising events. I was not prepared for the fantastic response Clint got from wearing his jacket. Clint has a blog for anyone who would like to follow his story. His blog is http://hips4clint.blogspot.com/

Last weekend, our big guy had over $700 in donations stuffed in his pockets. It was just amazing. The kids loved him and couldn't wait to put dollar bills in his pockets. I was talking to the person who fosters him and was at the fair last night after the fair, and we are already discussing our next order. We were both shocked at the amount. Of course, Clint did his part because he is such a wonderful dog. He is a huge Labradoodle with a heart as big as he is. He loved the kids and the people, but the jacket gave the kids an opportunity to feel like they were really doing something (which they were) to help him.

Thank you for what you do and for giving us a place to get the tools we need to make our jobs easier."

Church Town

"Please find attached pictures of my friend Pauline on the right and her daughter in the middle with some of her rescues wearing your fantastic dog coats!

I received them on time for the family day and she was stunned when I gave them to her! The crowd were only there for a short time and Pauline was quietly standing at the side of the dog show ring with the bandanas on the dogs. People started to inquire and ask her for information. When we put the Donation Dog coat on her Wolfhound, he raised €90 (approximately $128) in approx. 20 minutes, she couldn't believe it.

She was thrilled the amount of attention the dogs received in such a short time and that she was able to just have them beside her and that people just approached her.

I can't thank you enough for doing such an amazing, efficient and professional job... I am so delighted to have found you...Thank goodness for the Internet...

I am sure I will be in touch again, to perhaps re-order more coats etc."

With Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

Brandy

"Here is Brandy proudly wearing his "I'm Blind" attire. Brandy is 5 years old and is a Llasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix. His owner died and his neighbors took him in. Unfortunately, the neighbors' two large dogs attacked him and the veterinarian had to remove both of his eyes as a result of the attack. So, he has been blind for around 8 months. He is amazing and we rescued him from a local rescue clinic. He joins Bootsie and Bart, our 3 year old Shih Tzus in our home. Thanks for the cute attire and products!" -Sara C.

"I just got the collar cover for my dog. That was fast shipping and the little note enclosed was sweet and kind of you... thank you soooo much. Although I am overprotective of my Deaf dog Lyla, there is always that thought if something were to happen and she got lose how would anyone know she was deaf.... now they do! What a great product. I will pass it along to all my rescue group and animal lover friends! I also belong to a pet site... it will go over big in there... tons of rescue groups!" -Donna

Bailey

"I have bought your 'I'm Blind' collar and neckerchief for my dog and think they're great - Thank You. I've attached some photos of Bailey for you, he's a Wolfhound Cross Retriever. He and his dad were handed in to a rescue centre as the owner couldn't afford to feed him, he was kept in a back yard, they said he was useless and used a horse whip on him!!! I took him home and he was absolutely terrified of everything. After having him a couple of days I realized he had a problem with his eyes as he was walking into things and tripping up a lot - more than a 7 month old should do anyway!! A quick trip to the vets confirmed he has congenital cataracts, totally blind in his left eye and about 90% blind in his right. The only good news about his blindness is that he was born with it and it's not a result of his former life. The dog's home didn't notice, they just thought he was terrified because of his beatings. I'd already fallen in love with him by then and returning him never crossed my mind, so I did some research on the Internet and came across your site and a couple of other websites, most of the information on the web was text book and would be quite difficult to put in place at home, like having a water fountain instead of a water bowl, Bailey must drink a bucket of water a day - can you imagine the size of water fountain I'd need, my house just isn't big enough!!! so I thought I'd put a web site together with my experiences, solutions and observations. Maybe it'll help someone else who was as bewildered as I was at the beginning. www.baileysblind.co.uk Baileys really coming into his own now, he's getting more and more confident and turning into such a great dog, I think his blindness bothers me more than him." -Leanne in the UK

Bulldogs

"The Blind Dog t-shirts are a perfect fit and absolutely adorable! Below are my dog daughters. Graciela is the red head on the left and Beatrix is on the right. Beatrix was born blind with eyes that did not form correctly. She had to have the eyes removed before her first birthday. The "big eye" had cataracts, detached retina, hemorrhaging. The left eye just had eye tissue and eyelashes. The girls are littermate sisters."-Mary R.

"Sammy’s vest arrived safely and looks wonderful. THANK YOU!!!"

Abby

"Just wanted to say thanks for such great service sending Abby her bandana. I've enclosed a Picture of her. She is very people shy and we recently adopted a new "sister" for her. We are hoping she will Help Abby become a little more secure. We go camping every weekend so they get socialized and because Abby is so cute, people don't understand that she can be so Shy. I'm sure she will get many compliments on her new attire." -Roberta M.

Maya

"We ordered an I'm Deaf collar cover for our 2 year old deaf Great Dane, Maya. We adopted Maya in December with the help of MAGDRL. Thanks for the quick shipment. We love how bright her collar cover is. It immediately explains her "visual" behavior to people and she has even made new friends because of it!  She always wears it when we take her out to 1) help people understand her should heaven forbid she get away from us and; 2) to explain to people why they have to sometimes get her attention since she is always scanning the area around her. We were in a Petsmart when a deaf couple came up to pet Maya. The man was also visually impaired. The woman would ask us questions then sign the info to the man while he felt her hand. Maya and the gentleman were kindred spirits as he hugged and petted her and she covered his face in sloppy kisses...he couldn't get enough of Maya. Thanks!" -Jean and Neil B.

"We just got Ludo's "blind dog" bandana today. It got here so quickly and was packaged beautifully. I was very happy with the quality and how easy it is to put on my Yorkie. This will make it easier to go out for him - people will know to speak to him before touching him so he is not startled. Thank you!" -Anna

Popper

"I want to thank you so much for the I'm Deaf collar cover for Popper. He's a 7 month old deaf Great Dane. It fits him wonderfully and will help me out a ton at the dog park. Everyone wants to know his name to call him over to pet him because he's just so cute and friendly, but I have to tell them he just can't hear them so that's why he's not turning around. Now they'll know when they see his gorgeous yellow collar cover! Thank you again!

I brought Popper home at 8 weeks not knowing he’s deaf. I’m not sure the breeder even knew. After talking with our vet about Popper being an extremely heavy sleeper and startling easily, we finally came to the realization that he is, in fact, deaf. We chose not to BAER test him only because we’re sure what the results will be. Currently Popper knows hand signals for "sit, down, and stop."

Popper

He’s very handsome and smart…and a devil dog!!  He has so much energy!  He picks on his Chihuahua sister daily for entertainment, but she keeps him in line.  He loves to go to the lake to swim and play with other dogs. He’s such a good dog!" -Christi B.

Edel

"Just had to share these photos of Edel modeling the coat we just received. She looks so cute I just had to share. She was a big hit at a local festival and the coat certainly helped everyone feel comfortable approaching her...along with those who just stood back at marveled at the deaf/blind dog strutting her stuff! She certainly opened some eyes.

Thank you for a wonderful, high quality product. I am telling everyone about you! Take care and keep up the good work! And thanks for supporting rescue!!!"

I worked with her for a couple weeks to mellow her out and they said no one would take her and her time was up. I had fallen in love with her and adopted her!! She is a doll!! Thanks!!" -Dena

There are two other things that have helped too. One is the huge GREAT DANE RESCUE sign we put out on the corner to let everyone know we are there and Thankful Paw's amazing Donation Dog coats! We had three Donation coats today and all the dogs were working them like pros! We made $199 in donations and Dayna S. brought us another $85 in donations. For a total of $284!!!" -Nikki R.

Shane

"I could not be happier with the coats for Shane. This will be very helpful where I work, we manage a retirement village for senior citizens Seneca Hills Village in Penn Hills Pa. and Shane is always with us and the residents. "Barney wore his Donation Coat proudly and we worked the crowd non-stop for the two hours we were at Petsmart. We had to empty his Donation Coat pockets at least 4 - 5 times. Some folks gave 5-dollar bills, elderly women donated wads of 1-dollar bills, and little kids were stuffing money in his pockets. I had one man tell me he didn't have any cash on him but when he checked out, he would come back and make a donation. Sure enough, about 30-minutes later, he found me in the store, and put a $5-bill in Barney's pocket." -Kathleen B.

"I received the coats, vest, and summer saddle and they are wonderful. Everything fits great. You do great work and I will highly recommend you. Thanks again." -Cindy F.

Tawney

"We love your coats. Thanks so much!!! We just received the XSmall coat too and it is darling. We have had your coats on Bassets and our one legged dogs! and we love them. This is Tawny... she was at Whole Foods and people loved her and she was a great little ambassador. I found Tawny sitting in front of a convenience store about 10 years ago in Ohio. Someone had just dumped her there after she had puppies and she was waiting for them to return. They never did. She developed cancer in her leg, it was cut off, she went through Chemo and died one year ago this month. We miss her terribly, but she sure looked good in her coat from you guys and helped me raise lots of money for NJ Aid for Animals...She had a mission!"
- Kathy M., President of NJ Aid for Animals

"Just placed an order for our second Donation Dog coat. They are great! People love to put money in the pockets!" -Laurel T.

Mariner

"We received the I'm Blind bandanas today. They look great. Thank you. We ordered the small and the medium because our dog is only four months old and we know he will need the medium in a couple of months.

Mariner is a four month old Goldendoodle. When he was 9 weeks old he fractured his skull and lost his eyesight (he was still with the breeder). Although the breeder was wonderful and spent a lot of money for specialists, they were not prepared to keep him and were going to put him down if he no one adopted him. We have one of his older brothers Boomer, who is 2 years old (68 lbs) and a 1 year old "mini" female Goldendoodle (34 lbs), Shayna. After talking to our vet, John Palescandolo of Willow Brook Animal Clinic, we decided to adopt Mariner. He has been with us about three weeks now and is amazing how he has learned to navigate the house and the outside.

Again, thank you for the great bandanas."

-Andy & Sharon Rader

"I received the SPCA saddle, and it's great. Taylor and I went to our first Meet and Greet and he looked so handsome in his Donation Coat. All the people loved him, and we had to empty his pocket a few times. Thank you very much." -Terri T.

Georgia in her Winter Coat

"I got Georgia’s coat in the mail today… Just in time, because it is COLD here tonight! It looks just lovely on her. This evening when she went out for her after-dinner potty break, she didn’t want to hurry back in and I know it’s because she was warm and snuggly with her coat on. I am attaching a picture of her with it on! Thanks for helping us keep our arthritic Wobblers’ baby warm this Winter." -Allyson K.

Grr Village - Dezy

"Hi!  I wanted to let you know that the Donation Coat we ordered for our first rescue event was a rousing success! As you know we use our "Ambassador for the Breed" - American Staffordshire Terrier (known to some as the pitbull) AKC Champion Two Spirits Desert Eagle of Gaff - commonly known as Dezy. As you can see in the attached photo, Dezy is quite the ham, and collected a large amount of cash donations for Grrr Village. We touted him as "Dezy the Amazing Money Pit".

In our next event we may just "sell kisses for $1" because Dezy loves to give kisses as well.

This coat was awesome, and we gave many people your web address and highly recommended you.

Thank you again for a great fundraising item.  We will be ordering more in the future!" -Julie

Marilyn

"Thank you very much for my beautiful coat. It will definitely come in handy when winter finally gets here. I will wear it with pride and tell all my Pug friends were I got it. Again thank you so much." -Marilyn, the Pug

Marilyn's story began in southern Ohio. She was picked up as a stray and taken to the pound. Her eye was ruptured, she had a big tear under leg that was gaping open and had a swastika bleached in her back. She was taken to a wonderful vet in Columbus who took her eye out and cleaned and stitched up her leg. We had her back shaved down in order to get the swastika off her back. Her fur is growing back now and may not have to be shaved again, I am giving serious consideration to adopting her myself. After all she has been through she is the sweetest Pug I know. Our website is www.ohiopugrescue.com.

"I received the dog "Adopt Me Please" bandanas. The bandanas are absolutely W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! Thank you so very much for your prompt attention to our order. With Thankful Paws help, our dogs will be wearing their bandanas at this weekend's Pet Fair. I immediately had my Chihuahua girl model the sporty bandana and she looked especially, especially cute -- if that was even more possible! Again, thank you for making our dogs (hopeful) adoption your priority and providing a GREAT product to Mill Dog Rescue Network. If you have a chance, please go to our Mill Dog Rescue Network website: www.milldogrescue.org. May it bring a smile to your day knowing these are the beautiful dogs (searching for a home they always deserved) that will be wearing your bandanas. God bless you and Thankful Paws."

-Sharon M. (STAAR South Texas Animal Adoption Resource)

"Once again we had an amazing Meet & Greet at the Oriole’s baseball game. We collected $692.46 in donations. It’s amazing to see people walk up with handfuls of $1 bills and put them in the dog’s Donation Coats. We really love the Summertime Saddles too. Not only do they keep the dogs from getting too hot, but they allow for more of the dog to be petted. When you are at an event this busy that’s important…" -Christina K.

"Just wanted to let you know that I love the Polo Shirt that says "Rescued Dogs Rock" on it! Tom likes the 2 shirts we got on your CafePress site too! Thanks for the great products!" -Tom and Jane W.

Taz

"I received the "Adopt Me Please" bandanas. I am going to give them to Noah's Arc, Inc. in Morristown, TN. www.noahsarc.petfinder.org This is a no-kill animal rescue that I am a member of and I also serve as the treasurer.

Here's a picture of my little dog, Taz, wearing the medium-sized bandana. It's a little big for him, but I needed a "model."  I hope these will increase our adoptions. Taz is a little dog from Noah's Arc that I took home in May to foster. Many people were interested in him, but when they found out that he has an enlarged heart and requires 3 pills per day, they quickly lost interest. He is so much fun with a lot of personality. I fell in love with him and decided to adopt him myself!

Thanks so much!" -Pamela H.

Meg with her Thankful Paws "I'm Blind" Bandana

Meg"The "I'm Blind" bandanas have arrived safely along with your lovely letter of support. It was so kind of you to send 2 of each size. The small ones fit Meg perfectly and the 2 medium ones we have given as a gift to my husband's father who owns a blind Collie called Tegan. The bandanas are a real blessing for her, so that people will know she has a disability.

Our little Lancashire Heeler Meg, had both eyes removed on the 10th July.
She is coping really well now she is home again and is walking on her lead
sporting her lovely new bandana when she goes out with us. Meg's life story is at www.dogster.com/dogs/591819.

Thanks once again for all your help and support."

Beaurigard

"Thank you for the collar cover. This gentle, wonderful boy is a stray we took in about 3 months ago. His name is Sir Beaurigard and he's about 12 or 13 years old, according to the canine opthamologist. He's been shot with a BB in the left eye (his retina is floating & the BB is visible on ultrasound) and he has a mature cataract in the right eye. With what little vision he has, he is AMAZING. This photo was taken after some play, pooped boy. I'm planning to have cataract surgery to give him a chance to see again (BIG decision). Thank you for your wonderful, considerate products." -Joanne S.

Max

"Here is a picture of Max wearing his I'm Deaf collar cover ~ he is sitting on our sofa with Goose our other Rescue Dane. Goose is 3 years old and tips the scales at 160 while Max at age 5 tips the scales at 187.

Max was born deaf, and was adopted by a couple who kept him until he was 5 years old. The couple never gave him any obedience training. When the couple had a baby, they decided that it was too dangerous for the baby to have Max around. They gave Max to Indian Dane Rescue in San Marcos, California. Poor Max was so sad. As any Dane family knows Great Danes are very attached to their humans and a deaf Dane is even more so. Max sat in front of the front door to Rene’s Home (Rene is the owner of Indian Dane Rescue) waiting for his family to come back and get him. Max stayed there for days on end not wanting to venture away from the door in case his family returned.

Rick and I had already adopted Goose, another Dane from Indian Dane Rescue, and we wanted to adopt another Dane. Rick was on business travel when Rene introduced me to Max, and it was love at first sight!  He is such a big guy and so very loving. When Rick returned from travel, "WOW" was all he could say.

Max bonded quite quickly with Rick and I, and he is slowly learning how to be a member of a family with other dogs and cats and doing quite well. Rick and I are using a combination of dog training hand signals and American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate and train Max. He is a very fast learner. However, when he doesn’t want to do something, he just simply turns his back on you like any child… – LoL! We have spray bottles filled with water all over our property, this way there is always one nearby if we need to get his attention. The squirt bottles have turned out to be the tool of choice to gain the attention of all of our animals. It doesn’t hurt and it gets their attention. Max is even learning how to ‘play’ with Goose and Shiloh (Shiloh is a Dane, Shepherd, Lab mix). The other dogs and cats are slowly figuring out that sound cues to Max like growls, snapping, or barks do not get his attention. I think this is a slower process for them to understand than for Max. Because Max is deaf, the sound of Rick’s riding lawn mower doesn’t bother or scare him, one of Max’s favorite activities is to run along side Rick when he is mowing the property.

We like having the ‘I’m Deaf’ collar cover on Max because we live in Ramona, California, which is prone to the annual fires in October and November. If there was an evacuation and Rick and I weren’t home we want to make sure rescuer’s know that Max is deaf and will not respond to yelling and calling. When we take Max out in public we make sure he is wearing his Bright Red ‘I am Deaf’ vest because he startles very easily when children run up to try to pet him. When he startles his bark/yelp is very loud and can be frightening to the unsuspecting and uneducated person. Max’s voice is different than other dogs who can hear, plus it is louder.

Having a deaf dog is no more difficult than having a dog that can hear. There are some minor adjustments ~ like how to get their attention when they are not looking in your direction but that has been easily overcome with squirt bottles or flashing lights pointed at him. So ~ please do not discount having a deaf dog in your family they are loving and deserving of a happy life as with any other animal." -Jill Z.

"The Adoption Coat worked wonders at our Meet & Greet event. Apollo was the only Dane there and did great with all of the people, kids and other dogs. And when I say people, I am talking circles of at least 10 people waiting around to pet him. He was petted non-stop and raised $185.81 - and to give you an idea of the number of people, of that $185 - $131 was in ones!"

This is particularly meaningful because there were a host of other rescue groups at the PetSmart Meet & Greet. But we had the Thankful Paws coats...and we only had a single coat today, but I gotta tell you, besides the generous donation from the Steinfort's, almost $300 was stuffed into Merlot's pockets in a short 4 hour outing for a total of $400. Furry Friends Network Dog

"The rescue I volunteer with just received a large Adopt Me Please coat. Riley Roo Roo is the first dog...she is a fat coonhound mix...65lbs. The second is my Wesley Dog, he is a large shep lab mix...85lbs-tall and lean. Like many of us in rescue, we always are looking for ways to raise extra cash...these donation coats are better than cans cause an adoptable dog will be wearing them!! People love to meet and greet dogs and read what is on the sides...great conversation starters!! Personally, I was surprised at the quality of this coat...I have seen others and thought this one was really well thought out...with removable donation band, extenders and big bright lettering it is a real winner!!"   -Kim F. Scooby in a Donation Team Vest"Hi Jody & Terry! Thought I would share with you what a great day we had at the Woolly Worm festival! The kids and staff worked very hard organizing our booth and activities. Our efforts to raise money for MAGDRL, and for a fund the children have established to send Christmas to Katrina's kids, were greatly enhanced by using your Donation Team vests and Donation Dog coat! The children LOVED the vests and waited patiently for their turn wearing them! These kids have proved themselves masters at fundraising through their animal advocacy group, H.E.L.P., and were just thrilled to have a fundraising team "uniform" they could wear out into the crowds while passing out flyers! It's a good thing the vests have 2 pockets because they filled up very quickly!
Rudy's Donation Dog coat with the Broadway Barks logo was just beautiful and worked so well for us that we were continually cleaning the pockets out to make room for more donations! This photo is my personal favorite..."Scooby" wearing one of your vests! Thank you so much for sharing this great tool with us.......We already have plans to order more vests and a couple of the child's aprons for the younger kid's to use." -Thanks again, Kathy S.

Deaf Dog MacKenzie

"I cannot begin to thank you for the special deaf dog collar covers, the custom size fits perfectly! MacKenzie wore hers today to visit her rescuers from Puerto Rico at the Save A Sato Reunion in Massachusetts, and it worked out great! We have in the past had problems with people or other dogs approaching and startling her because she does not hear them, but now all that has changed! The collar alerted the other dog owners that MacKenzie was deaf, and so they indeed approach with caution. As an added benefit, it attracted a lot of people who asked questions, and we were able to educate many people about the pleasures of owning a deaf dog, for most it was the first time they had met a deaf dog! We are so thankful that you offer these unique products for these special dogs. We did meet another deaf dog at the reunion, and passed along your website address!"
-Tracey G., MacKenzie and Baxter, the Satos

"We all had a wonderful time today at Oriole Park. They set us up inside the stadium, in the shade, but next to a gate so we had a nice breeze. We had tons of people playing with the Danes, asking about our rescue, and a few interested in adoption and fostering. We didn't sell much merchandise, only $84.50 worth, but thanks to the Donation Coats we had, we brought in $556.17 in donations!! It was incredible how fast the pockets on the coats filled up." -Christina K.

"We just received our new fleece winter coats from Thankful Paws. They are beautiful and so soft. Jake & Sally like them so much they didn't want to take them off when they came inside. They tried to go take naps all cuddled up in them. I'm going to have to try to find some blankets that feel as soft as these but will hold up to a lot of washings. Thanks Jody & Terry. You did a wonderful job." -Jennifer S.

"Maxine's new winter 'Burberry' style coat came today and it's LOVELY! You did a fantastic job. Ava is jealous and is now demanding I get her one. But she would try to eat hers I just know it!" -Stephanie D.

Max

"We got your beautiful and useful coat! It's going to be especially helpful since one of our foster Newfs, Shooter (rescued from a puppy mill) bloated.  http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/autumnacres.html.

His stomach torsioned over 360 degrees & he was in shock but luckily we caught it quick. Even then, it was touch & go for a while but he survived and is making an amazing recovery for a 5 year old who'd had a hard life.

As you can imagine, his medical expenses were considerable but worth it to let this poor dog finally have a chance for a good life. He'd never had any toys and now that he knows what they are, he plays with them just like a little puppy. The rescue group operates on a shoestring so every little bit Gomez and the coat can raise is going to be appreciated!

Update: Gomez & his coat raised $79.38 for Autumn Acres today when we walked around downtown for a few hours! Thanks so much!"

"At the Waldorf, MD PETsMART Meet & Greet, Casper was our donation Ambassador and did a great job by collecting $151.02. Casper was laying down and a young boy knelt down to pet him and asked why Casper had dollars in his vest. I told him they were donations to help all of the dogs in our care. He looked at me and said "wow, really?" and dug into his little pockets and pulled out all the change he had and placed it in Casper's donation vest. While I was fighting back tears, I told the little boy to look at my Meet & Greet notebook so he could see all the of the dogs his money was going to help. He had a big smile on his face!" -Linda M.

"We had a GREAT day at the Westminster, MD PETsMART. Thanks to the generosity of many shoppers who visited with us, we raised $114.16. One little boy stopped back several times to see us and insisted that his mother give him money to put in the dog's Donation Coat pockets on each visit he made. He was very persistent and we're very grateful!" -Jody C.

"The only steady stream we had was the RAIN!!! What a day! This was our first time setting up a Meet & Greet at Rusty's Place in Ringwood, NJ. I have to say that it is one of the nicest pet stores I have ever been in!! The owners were so nice. They apologized for business being slow but of the dozen people that came in the store two of them saw that we would be there from our website and came to seriously inquire about adopting. For such a slow day we did great with those two inquiring families and $51.00 collected in donations from Dakota wearing his donation coat!!!" -Cathy D.

Caesar in his Winter Coat

"Thanks again for making the coats. Caesar looks great in them!" -Regina M.

Caesar was officially measured recently to see if he would break the Guinness Book of World Records for the Tallest Dog. As you can imagine, Caesar requires VERY LARGE COATS!! While we all wished and hoped Caesar would top 42.2,” it wasn’t to be. Caesar was just shy of the record by .7 of an inch.

Caesar's story:
Caesar was turned over to the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. early in his life. He was purchased from a breeder and shortly after joining his new family, Caesar began to drag his left hind leg. After months of consultations with various veterinarians, it was determined that Caesar had injured his hip at an early age and would require a total left hip replacement or he would have to be euthanized before he turned 3 years of age as the arthritis and pain would get much worse. The family called the breeder and the breeder was willing to take Caesar back but would euthanize him. The family loved him and didn’t want to see that happen so they contacted the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc.

The rescue league agreed to give Caesar a chance in life. Even through all of his pain, Caesar displayed the typical friendly Great Dane personality. After many fundraisers and generous donations from the public, Caesar underwent a hip replacement and aqua therapy classes.

He was adopted by the Morgan family in Maryland and became certified as a Therapy Dog. Caesar is a blood donor with the Eastern Veterinary Blood Bank in Maryland and because of his size, he can donate 1 unit of blood per visit for his fellow canines in need. Caesar especially loves his bimonthly visits with the patients and staff at The Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Thankful Paws Table

Thankful Paws Donation Coats & Apparel had a wonderful time at the 5th Annual Parade of Paws fundraiser in Millersville, Maryland on October 15, 2005. This annual fundraiser is hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. and includes a walk through the lovely park, fun contests and games, spectacular raffle, vendors, food, rescue organizations and demonstrations.

We met many wonderful pets and their owners, dedicated rescue volunteers, and friendly vendors.

Everyone was very accommodating as we tried our sample coats on dogs of the tiniest sizes to the giant breeds. We met several deaf dogs, blind dogs, and a couple of dogs who are deaf and blind. They were the inspiration for our new line of collar covers specially made for dogs who are both deaf and blind. We held a raffle drawing for a "Donation Dog" or "Adopt Me Please" coat and the lucky winner was Xavier with "Gomez," who is a big supporter of Newfoundland Rescue and an All Breed Rescue organization.
